Procurement refers to all activities a business engages in to acquire the goods and services it requires to carry out its daily operations. The procurement process includes evaluating and selecting strategic vendors, open bidding, contract negotiations, purchasing, receiving and inspecting shipments as necessary, and record keeping of each stage in the process.
