Private Labels

Table of Contents

Private label describes products sold under a retailer’s own brand but produced by a third party known as a private label manufacturer. The company branding and selling the product is different from the business responsible for producing the goods.

While a private label product may resemble those of its competitors, a different production formula and process must be used.
